Our Scales Business

We started this weighing equipment sales and service business way back in 1983 in a small corner shop unit in Ilkeston. Quickly outgrowing this we moved to a single industrial unit in Cossall Industrial estate where we operated from until the year 2000 when we were forced to move again to larger premises and chose a new industrial estate in nearby Langley Mill, Nottinghamshire. Continuous increase in business however led us to even think of moving again but fortunately the adjacent unit to ours became available for purchase so we stayed here and acquired this unit to make one large facility from which we operate to this day.

We have full ISO9001 Accreditation, are members of the UK Weighing Federation and are partners of many main suppliers of weighing equipment including Ohaus, A&D, Avery, Brecknell and Baxtran. We operate using the 'CaliPro' Calibration Management system so our many contract customers can have complete confidence in data accuracy. All our test weights have been recently recalibrated to the national standard, and our stock of weights for hire has been increased due to the popularity of this service, particularly the stillages each containing 1 Tonne of 20 Kilogram calibrated weights. It is best to pre-book these to ensure availability. We also have a Retail Sales counter where you can try before you buy any of the products on the website that are marked 'Next Day Delivery'.

Repair and Calibration Facilities

Here at our main site at Langley Mill we have extensive workshop facilities and the necessary technical information to enable our engineers to repair and calibrate most types of weighing equipment, even if we have never sold that particular item. Small and medium sized items can just be sent here by courier for repair or quotation first if required.

Just call us for a job reference number, pack it well in a strong box and send it to us. Don't forget to include this reference number and your contact information, and please also remember that it is very important to include the supplied power supply unit with it (if applicable). If you need an on-site repair for larger equipment and are located within our service coverage area (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Staffordshire, South Yorkshire or Rutland), we have a team of experienced mobile service engineers able to visit your premises at a convenient time to service, repair and calibrate your weighing equipment. We can also arrange visits to perform Calibration and Certification only either on demand or as part of a contract package involving scheduled visits.
